The horticultural clusters of Greenport West-Holland and Végépolys are planning to collaborate closely. Greenport and the French horticultural cluster have signed a so-called Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this end.
Greenport West-Holland is the regional network organisation of government, business, educational institutions and knowledge institutions. Together, they work towards a vital and sustainable future for the regional horticultural cluster. Végépolys is a horticultural cluster on the west coast of France that focuses on innovative cooperation between companies, research and training centres.
Greenport West-Holland and Végépolys are already working together on a number of topics, amongst others, within the European TRACK project. This project focuses on the application of big data within agrifood. In addition, this week Greenport West-Holland organised the annual meeting of Plant InterCluster (PIC), the collaboration between French horticultural clusters to which Végépolys is affiliated.
Greenport West-Holland and Végépolys signed a cooperation agreement during the PIC meeting. Both clusters have agreed that they will collaborate on connecting and accelerating innovation in the horticultural sector, for example through participation in joint proposals from national and international project calls. In addition, they plan to organise reciprocal visits and work together to create a European network of ‘clusters in the field of horticulture trade and production’
